NWTTA FUTURE TALENT
W.Howard Awards Future Talent at North West Timber Trade Association Dinner
Last month we were delighted to sponsor the North West Timber Trade Association (NWTTA) Dinner where we had the privilege of awarding the NWTTA's Student Architect Prize for 2018.
Talented students from Liverpool University's School of Architecture submitted entries and first place was awarded to Rhiannon Williams who was congratulated for her entry, titled 'Brewlam'. In the photo above our Chief Executive Jonathan Grant is with Rhiannon and Ben Callas.
'The judges felt that overall this project was extremely thorough. The complete thought process on the building's function and needs felt like no stone was unturned. The research on the materials used was excellent and designed with the immediate building scale in mind.
'A practical and attractive design with timber at the forefront of its exterior and interior.'
Second place was awarded to Lauren Greensill for her submission, 'Paws in the Park' and third place went to Kate Johnson for 'Connecting Tate'.
Awarding the prize, our Group Chief Executive, Jonathan Grant said: "The quality of entrants into this year's NWTTA student architecture prize has been really excellent, so we congratulate Rhiannon on her success.
"We are proud to have been involved in the event as part of our 60th anniversary celebrations this year and to support new talent in the industry."
