New IT system makes it even easier to order from W.Howard Group.

W.Howard Group has invested in a new IT system to make it even easier for merchants and stockists to order from the MDF profile manufacturer.

This investment in a Microsoft Business Central system is the culmination of an 18-month project, and marks the next step for a company that has grown significantly in recent years, expanding its market share and introducing new products that make life easier for tradespeople.

Stuart Murray, Group Company Accountant, explains: “W.Howard Group had outgrown the previous system we were using, and as our business works across multiple sites, we were finding it harder as we grew in size to have clear visibility of data across the business.”

After examining a number of possible IT solutions, W.Howard Group chose a Microsoft Business Central system that offers the company a full ERP solution, including manufacturing and warehousing. The system is already in operation at W.Howard Group’s UK sites, and will be rolled out to the company’s other sites over the coming months.

Stuart continues: “This advanced business management solution will make it easier for us to manage and grow our intercompany trading, as well as giving us a much greater level of visibility on our key KPIs. In turn, our customers will find it even easier to order from us, because we can use the system to manage our stock portfolio and availability accurately, and to give our stockists even more reliable delivery dates.

“We chose Microsoft because it’s an incredibly well-supported system that integrates perfectly with the rest of our software. We were able to take the base system and customise it to our specific needs, and so we know that the system is robust and will give us all the information that we need to grow our business.”
