The W.Howard Group sales team is once again taking to their bikes to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Last year, W.Howard Group’s Rob Povah took part in the Football to Amsterdam charity bike ride in memory of his father, David, who lost his battle with Prostate Cancer in 2016.

This year, Povah is joined by Simon Fleet, Andy Minas and Jake Cintra. Together they will cycle 145 miles from Yorkshire to Amsterdam between 5 and 7 June, raising money for an incredibly worthy cause that’s close to all their hearts.

Prostate cancer is a disease that kills one man every 45 minutes - that's two people during a single football match – but it doesn't have to be this way. Prostate Cancer UK works tirelessly to fund vital research into better treatments and tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and which could save thousands of lives through screening programmes.

As part of the 2020 Football to Amsterdam event, the W.Howard Group team will join hundreds of fellow football fans to cycle 80 miles through the UK on Day One, before enjoying a scenic ride along Dutch canal paths on Day Two to finish at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena.

The team hopes to smash their fundraising of £5,000, and has created a JustGiving page for anyone who would like to give their support. Team sponsorship packages are also available for W.Howard Group customers and suppliers who would like to donate £500 to Prostate Cancer UK, in return for their logo and branding being added to the team’s bespoke cycling shirts.

Simon Fleet, W.Howard’s Group Commercial Director, said: “Prostate Cancer is a disease that has touched the lives of many of our friends and family at W.Howard Group. Seeing Rob’s incredible achievement last year inspired the rest of us to get involved to play our part in fundraising for the vital work of Prostate Cancer UK. Now we’re hard at work training for the bike ride, and would love all our customers suppliers to get involved in cheering us on, and giving anything they can.”
