W.Howard Group joins NMBS.

The W.Howard Group is pleased to announce it has become a National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS) supplier member.

The move, which reaffirms the manufacturer’s commitment to the independent merchant sector, will enable the Manchester-based company to better support its existing network of independent customers, as well as giving new builders’ merchants the chance to access its wide range of MDF profiles.

The W.Howard Group celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2018, and remains a family-run business, led by Chairman Jonathan Grant. The company is the leading UK manufacturer and supplier of white primed, real wood veneered, and foil wrapped MDF profiles, such as skirting, architraves, window boards, and door linings, with bespoke profiles available to suit any specification.

Commenting on W.Howard Group’s entry into NMBS, Group Commercial Director Simon Fleet said: “We are thrilled to be joining NMBS at such an exciting time in our company’s growth and development. Becoming an NMBS supplier partner will allow us to better support our independent merchant customers, and we are looking forward to attending the NMBS Exhibition and talking to merchants about our new core range.”

NMBS is the largest and most successful buying society in the UK for independent builders’, plumbers’, hardware and timber merchants. NMBS membership enables independent merchants to get the best possible deals from suppliers, through exclusive offers and terms via centralised purchasing, marketing and event activities. Established in 1963, NMBS now has more than 1,000 merchant members, equating to almost half of the entire building industry market.

"Welcoming W. Howard Group into the buying society, NMBS Heavyside Trading Manager Paul Andrews said: “We are pleased to welcome W.Howard Group. Their strong business ethos of supporting the independent merchant sector, coupled with innovative product development and bespoke design, can drive further benefits for all parties involved, and we look forward to a successful partnership in the future."
